Journal Impact Factors 2018
OUTDATED - see IF 2019 for new data.
The 2018 impact factors were just released, and the Semantic Web journal is at 2.224. We will compare it with the impact factors from the same journals we compared it with last year.
First the list of "Web" journals which we generated two years ago for comparison, together with the new, updated, impact factors.
Semantic Web 2.224
Journal of Web Semantics 1.348
ACM Transactions on the Web 1.163
World Wide Web - Internet and Web Information Systems 1.150
International Journal of Web and Grid Services 1.071
International Journal on Semantic Web and Information Systems 0.793
International Journal of Web Services Research 0.405
The Semantic Web journal still tops this list with quite a distance to the runner-up.
Like last year, here are some journals (the same as last year in fact) with overlapping scope.
IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering: 2.775
VLDB Journal 2.689
Information Systems 2.551
Knowledge and Information Systems 2.247
Semantic Web 2.224
Multimedia Tools and Applications 1.541
Data & Knowledge Engineering 1.467
Journal of Web Semantics 1.348
ACM Transactions on the Web 1.163
World Wide Web - Internet and Web Information Systems 1.150
International Journal on Semantic Web and Information Systems 0.793
Applied Ontology 0.774
ACM Transactions on Computer-Human Interaction 0.972
In terms of order, we dropped two places on this list, but we also note that the top five journals listed above are rather close in terms of their scores.
Some journals covering generically larger communities of course are higher, although one of the ones mentioned last year now ranks below the Semantic Web journal.
Knowledge-based Systems 4.396
Communications of the ACM 3.063
Artificial Intelligence 3.034
IEEE Intelligent Systems 2.596
